Wishing you a Happy and Inspiring 2024 from Gerald Schepers
My name is Gerald Schepers, and I wish everyone a happy and inspiring 2024. As a self-taught artist since 2016, I have brought my passion for art to life by experimenting with different techniques and materials. I prefer working with oil paint and cold wax, although I also regularly use acrylic as a base, combined with oil pastels in the finishing. The endless inspiration I draw from nature is the driving force behind my work. The Intuitive Approach of Gerald Schepers When I start a new project, I let my intuition run free. I paint without a fixed plan and follow my feelings to let the story emerge. This approach ensures that each artwork is unique and leads its own life. My techniques vary; I do not often use a brush, but prefer palette knives, colour shapers, and catalyst tools. Additionally, I enjoy working with my hands and fingers, of course with painter's gloves on. This direct approach gives my work a personal and tactile dimension. The Power of Earthy Tones and Blue My works often feature the use of earthy tones, such as the colors of rocks, mountains, and landscapes. These natural elements form an important source of inspiration and bring a sense of peace and connection to the earth. Additionally, I have a special fondness for the color blue. I call this combination "Heaven & Earth" and it plays a prominent role in many of my works. A Artwork with a Story Each piece I create tells its own story, inspired by the wonders of nature and my personal experiences. By working intuitively and combining different techniques and materials, unique compositions arise that invite the viewer to give their own interpretation. I believe that art should not only be visually appealing but also have a deeper meaning that stimulates the senses and enriches the mind. Contact and Questions If you have questions or want to know more about my work and the techniques I use, please do not hesitate to contact me.
