Born in 1955 in Manokwari, New Guinea, this artist brings stories to life on a remarkable canvas: carefully prepared old barndoors and shutters from farmhouses. Wood that breathes history—bearing cracks, hinges, and iron fittings from old farms—forms the foundation for paintings that are both mysterious and layered. The texture and character of the wood are an inseparable part of each work, creating a unique dialogue between past and imagination. Some of the smaller paintings are on chipboard. He is currently living and working in Haaksbergen, a quiet rural village in the East of The Netherlands.
