Efthymia Papaioannou

Efthymia Papaioannou has worked as an archaeologist, where she continued painting alongside her excavation work, often depicting the findings she discovered. Painting has remained central to her practice across many surfaces and materials—canvas, paper, and walls.

Her formal training included painting lessons as well as freehand and linear drawing. In 2006, she discovered silk and began using it as a surface for her work, eventually creating her first garment from it. She continues to paint on canvas, paper, and digitally, exploring the possibilities each medium offers.
