Edgaras Vegys

Edgaras Vegys was born on November 3, 1985 in southeastern Lithuania. He graduated from high school with an enhanced art class in 2004, and that autumn began his studies at the Vilnius St Joseph Seminary for Priests. During his seminary years, painting remained a hobby while he pursued his religious studies.

After graduation, Vegys worked in various church and state institutions. His artistic practice took a secondary role during this period, though the desire to create remained with him. In 2018, he left these obligations and was accepted to the Klaipeda International School of Floral Designs, where he discovered a distinctive art form and returned to painting that same year.

In 2020, Vegys explored dance as another form of artistic expression, participating in a BBC televised project in Lithuania titled "Dance with a Star" alongside a professional ballroom dancer. That year, he became a member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists' Union. His painting style is expressive, using a wide range of colors to explore inner states and emotional experience.
