About Anja Temmink-Stolk
Hengelo, Netherlands
Anja Temmink-Stolk was born in Rotterdam, grew up in Rijssen, and has lived in Hengelo since 1989 with her husband and three children.
Clay is her primary material. She creates figurative sculptures developed through modeling with a live model or, more often, from specific poses based on photographs in which she poses herself. During her education at VABK from 2010 to 2013, she also studied various glass techniques including fusing, casting, and pâte de verre. The combination of these materials with clay strengthens each medium. In 2017, she completed a course in Belgium under the guidance of Katrin Dekoninck, learning techniques that allow her to create monumental sculptures despite the constraints of the kiln.
Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions including Art in the Volkspark in Enschede, Gallery de Graanzolder in Haaksbergen, the Deventer art market, the final exhibition at VABK at Estate de Reehorst in Driebergen, Gallery Gastvrij in Ootmarsum, Keramix in Zoetermeer, Art in Ootmarsum, the National art days in Gorinchem, the International glass and ceramics market in Haacht, the Art show Zeeland on Schouwen-Duivenland, Hengelo Shows at Heart Gallery, and Art Expo New York.
