Andra Natascha Daans was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to a Dutch mother and a Surinamese father. She now lives in Monflanquin, France.
In recent years, Daans has focused on developing a contemporary style with her distinctive personal signature. Her series "Portraits of Life" is based on true stories, with paintings and drawings that reflect on the lives of their subjects. While grounded in reality, her work adds expressive identity to the persons depicted.
Daans has exhibited widely, including a solo exhibition at Centric Place in Farmington Hills for Black History Month in 2024, and solo shows in Chicago and Detroit at Blackbird Gallerie in 2023. Her work has been shown at Art On The Move in Chicago in 2022, the Juneteenth celebration and Grand BLV Art Stroll in Detroit in 2022, and the Brabant Art Fair in 2021. Her work has been featured in FOX2 Detroit television and Rijnmond news, and in Kunst Vitamine Magazine.
