About Ajibola Eedris Adekanmbi
Ibadan, Nigeria
Ajibola Adekanmbi, a mixed media artist from Ibadan, Nigeria makes use of paper and junk, which includes cartons, electric waste, fabrics and more to create his unique style of textured art with which he addresses themes like social class, community, consumerism and migration. He is actively trying to maximise the use of waste in his works and advocates upcycling by further making utility crafts from waste.
He trained as a draughtsman and this has greatly influenced his works. He lives a simple life in Ibadan, where he operates his home studio.
