ABDA Collective

Alexis Branger and Devin Andersen form the collaborative practice ABDA Collective, based in Los Angeles. They create abstract work that layers texture, color, and industrial materials into visually dynamic compositions. Branger is a first-generation Los Angeles native with roots in Barranquilla, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela. Andersen is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They met while pursuing their BFAs at Otis College of Art & Design, where Branger studied Industrial Design and Andersen studied Studio Arts Painting.

After graduation, Branger worked as a painter and set designer in the motion picture and television industry before transitioning to fine arts through solo and collaborative projects. Andersen co-owned and curated The Barber Shop Art Space, an artist-run project space in the West Adams area of Los Angeles, from 2013 to 2015. He then worked as a construction coordinator, fabricator, and installer for fine artists, photographers, and film productions while continuing his own art practice.

Branger and Andersen work together in both the production industry and their personal art practice. They apply commercial fabrication and production techniques to fine art, creating works that combine their interests in process and material experimentation. In recent years, they have exhibited with galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Mexico City.
