STRYBER2017: Visions from the Dutch Coast
STRYBER2017, who adopted this name around 2003, has spent fifty years painting the visions and spiritual experiences that visited him during youth. Born in Gouda in 1952 and trained as an architect, he began translating these inner encounters onto canvas in 1983, working from studios first in southern Holland and later in the north. His impressionistic paintings draw on landscapes, water, and symbolic forms, which he has shared widely through websites and social media since the early 2000s. He has also published accessible e-books exploring his work and its deeper meaning, including a 2015 catalog of his life and practice. His art invites viewers into a world where the everyday and the visionary meet.
