Marking a work sold or reserved

What changes on your profile and your website when you do.

These are two different things in two different places, and it is worth knowing which is which.

Reserved, on loan or hidden

This is the status of the work, and you set it on the work itself. Open the work from My artworks and use the status picker:

  • Published — visible to everyone. The normal state.
  • Hidden — only you can see it. Useful while you are still photographing or deciding on a price.
  • On loan — stays visible, with a note that it is out on loan.
  • Reserved — stays visible, marked as reserved. For when someone has said yes but has not paid yet.

Reserved and On loan both keep the work on your page on purpose. A page that only shows what is still available makes you look like you are not selling anything.

Sold

Sold is not a status. It lives under Sales, because a sale is an event with a date and an amount, not a label on an image.

  1. Open Sales in your dashboard.
  2. Click I sold something.
  3. Pick the work and fill in what you got for it.

The work is then marked as sold and moves out of what is for sale.

If the work is an edition, pick the size that sold. We take that one off the shelf and the rest stays for sale. Only when the last one goes does the work itself move to sold.
