The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Five thousand years of art across two million objects, on the edge of Central Park.
The Met is less a museum than a city of them: Egyptian temples, European paintings, American period rooms, arms and armour, musical instruments. The rooftop garden in summer looks out over the park and the skyline behind it.
