Tjitte van Dalen
Tjitte van Dalen was born in Gouda in 1978 and studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam before graduating as a photographer from the Photo Academy in Amsterdam in 2007. His work draws on the architecture of buildings and elements from nature to create deliberately minimal images where color plays as important a role as structure. Van Dalen works with the interplay between sharp and soft focus, letting colors spread beyond their objects so they seem to lead their own lives. By blending background and foreground tones, he creates a visual conversation between color fields and the forms that contain them.
