Idalet: Nature Through Abstract Eyes

6 września 2026

Idalet grew up in the lush landscapes of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, where the Indian Ocean and sugarcane fields left a lasting impression. Now based in Pretoria, she translates those natural surroundings into abstract and contemporary works that blend movement, layering, and high contrast. Her paintings pull from the natural world—leaves, flowers, moonlight, mountains—but reimagine them through bold color and gestural mark-making. Working across abstract expressionism, impressionism, and mixed media, Idalet creates pieces that sit somewhere between landscape and pure abstraction, inviting viewers to find their own connection to nature within her work.
