nell Berger: Movement and Growth
nell Berger's practice grows from a childhood spent on the countryside near Alkmaar, where she was surrounded by growing things and wide open space. Raised with ten siblings on her father's horticultural land, she developed an early fascination with how plants change and take shape—watching crops harvested three times a week, seeing vegetables arranged in the fields according to their own natural forms. That restless energy found its way into dance training at the Amsterdam theater school, where she learned to work with her body and ideas spatially. Now her performances, installations, and work on paper carry forward that same attention to movement, growth, and the transformation of space.
