Sonja Rosing: Art and Consciousness

Based in Lelystad, Sonja Rosing has been creating full-time since graduating from Minerva art academy in Groningen in 1991. Her work spans painting, drawing, photography, video, and sculptural pieces for both indoor and outdoor spaces. A daily meditation practice since 1988 has shaped her artistic direction, with consciousness and Eastern philosophy becoming central themes in her visual language. Rosing is an active member of both Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam and the Artists Association Flevoland. She draws inspiration from time spent in nature, where she walks, sketches, photographs, and gathers materials that inform her practice.
