Brigitte Wawoe: Landscapes and Memory
Brigitte Wawoe grew up surrounded by art and architecture, her father's influence shaping an early passion that led her to study art and philosophy at Heidelberg University. After teaching in Caracas and spending over a decade in Curaçao, where she developed a deep connection to the island's Table Mountain landscape, she moved to the Netherlands by way of London and further studies. Now based in Wassenaar, Wawoe continues to return regularly to Curaçao, where she works in the quarry of the Table Mountain. Her practice spans continents and decades, reflecting a lifelong conversation with the places and experiences that have shaped her artistic vision.
