Rob Jacobs: Faces and Raw Feeling

18 août 2026

Rob Jacobs, based in Weert, Netherlands, paints faces the way we actually experience them—layered, contradictory, and full of feeling. Since studying at the art academy in Neerpelt, Belgium, he has built a distinctive practice that draws inspiration from human expressions and the different characters we encounter. Working intuitively without predetermined plans, Jacobs combines mixed techniques across both color and black-and-white canvases of varying sizes. His paintings are confronting and introspective, merging figuration with abstraction to capture the emotional weight that lives beneath the surface. His work exists in private collections and speaks to anyone who recognizes themselves in the complexity of a face.
