This unique, handmade artwork is a 25x reduced version of the large, monumental outdoor sculpture along Nettelhorsterweg (N825). The sculpture is inspired by Annie Visschers-Markerink, a very involved and approachable village figure from the hamlet of Nettelhorst. As a long-time council member and active member of the neighborhood association, she symbolizes a strong sense of community and the Achterhoek neighborliness. Her rustic, seated posture invites passersby to pause, enjoy the purity of the surroundings, and take it easy in traffic.
