WILLEM BOTHA

Willem Botha (b. 1962, Pretoria) is an accomplished South African sculptor whose works are highly sought after by art collectors around the world. Having spent most of his life and career in South Africa, he now lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Botha began his career in 1981, eventually serving as resident sculptor for the Windhoek State Museum and famously recreating the historic Atlas sculpture on Namibia’s House Hohenzollern. Known for his exceptional technical skill, he was commissioned to create extensive, custom bronze architectural elements for the Palace of the Lost City.

Following a successful tenure in international film production design, Botha returned unconditionally to fine art sculpting in 2016 to meet growing global demand.

Today, his contemporary sculptures reside in elite private collections spanning South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Australia, and Bulgaria. His public commissions are permanently displayed at the SANRAL building in Midrand and the House Hohenzollern in Swakopmund.
