Sacha van Keep

Sacha van Keep worked as an actress in Paris before stepping back from the profession. She then turned her attention to theater photography and gallery work. After several years, she discovered a strong inclination toward painting and developed her own style using palette knives and clean colors.

Her work was selected by the Grand Palais for inclusion in their centennial exhibition history, a recognition given to approximately 400 artists annually. She found herself part of a tradition that includes Picasso and Chagall. The painting Black Jaguar White Tiger emerged after she encountered the similarly named foundation of Eduardo Serio online, and the work developed intuitively from there.

Van Keep draws inspiration from her travels through Switzerland, Morocco, Thailand, and Arab countries, which have introduced new colors and directions to her work. When given free rein for her recent exhibition at RAW, she created heavier pieces that allowed her to explore the excitement and tension of her artistic practice.
