Exvista

Exvista is based in Stockport, England. After completing a foundation in fine art, he specialised in graphic design and worked as an independent practitioner. His growing interest in how design contributes to business performance led him to return to higher education to study business, with a focus on advertising and marketing. In the early 1980s, he became fascinated by the emergence of the personal computer and its potential to change how organisations and people communicate.

This fascination with technology continues to underpin his focus on creating original digital works of art. He explores how new technologies can be applied in the artistic process, and regularly exhibits and creates works for personal collections and private commissions. His work primarily involves digitally-created images applied to various surfaces.

Exvista draws inspiration from the built environment and seeks to express the inherent beauty of architectural structures in bold, graphic statements. His work is influenced by the classic travel posters of the 1920s and 1930s, produced in a contemporary style. He creates vector-based images that combine technical illustration, architectural visualisation, and photographic expression. His method involves capturing the essence of buildings through varying degrees of abstraction while retaining their defining characteristics, using vivid colouring and subtle gradients to describe the geometry with minimal lines.
