Ditte Benschop
About Ditte Benschop
Loosdrecht, Netherlands
Ditte Benschop has lived in Loosdrecht since 2009, in a houseboat at Recreation Park Mijnden, where she maintains her studio. She works in abstract and figurative styles using mixed techniques including acrylic, oil, and watercolor, often incorporating materials such as wood, sand, glass, stone, paper, shells, and fabric in collage works.
Her artistic practice is guided by intuition and the mood of each day—shaped by the natural rhythms of her environment, from birdsong and sunlight to rain and water. She holds an annual exhibition in her studio and garden, weather permitting, and has exhibited at various locations over the years, including the National Art Days in Nieuwegein in 2019.
Benschop teaches "Free Painting" courses on Tuesday afternoons at the Triptych in Loosdrecht as part of the Course Project Loosdrecht, with sessions beginning in January and October.
