Rollin´

The sculpture is an endless spiraling loop with the profile of a tire. On the side wall of the tire there is a text with instructions from a car navigation system, such as „take the second right“ or „ at the end of the road turn left“.

These navigational commands stand in an endless repetition, as the sculpture forms a loop. If you follow the endless line of these commands you will explore the whole world in a zigzagging way. The art piece is an invitation to explore the world with an open mindset, being open for the unexpected behind the next junction. 

Rollin´ is also a tribute to the ideas of the situationists, specially Guy Debord, who propagated a daily “dérive”. In this “dérive“, a kind of stroll through the city, you would explore the city in a non directional way, perceiving it in new ways. 

Rollin ´is a series that was programmed and produced in a mix of digital fabrication and handwork.
