About the artist
Huibert Arnold von Liebenstein, (Medan, 1950)
Huibert is a Dutch visual artist, based in Amsterdam. After finishing his courses at the Rietveld Academy and the Amsterdam Graphic Design School and while working as an art director working for advertising agencies he developed a passion for fine art.
Many people say Huibert's style resembles Jackson Pollock's: the idea of creating paintings without any concept in advance has always been a huge motivation in his works.
Many of his works are considered 'enigmatic': mysterious pieces of art leaving room for interpretation by the viewer.
