About the work

“Heart of Isis”, gold leaf and acrylic on canvas, 60 x 80 cm / 23 x 31”, 2020

This work is nothing like I have done before. I have never used this type of paints, technique, colors, and shapes. I did not use any tools to verify the proportions and the whole process was simply flawless. I am not even sure it is even my creation, as I was the conduit of beautiful divine energies coming from higher realms. I have definitely felt Hilma Af Klint's energy, one might recognize the shapes she used in her creations, while the gold leaf, the colors with a shimmery effect come from Isis Goddess.

This piece is simply precious, it is a portal, the symbol of the New Age we have just stepped in. The blue and red colors represent the masculine and feminine energies, while the lavender heart is a mix of them. The heart flows into a fragment of the Infinity sign below, symbolizing eternal love.  The spirals are the activations of the energies. This piece is simply unique.

About the artist

Cristina Balan is an abstract artist. Born in Moldova, she studied arts from the age of five. Very early on, her works were exhibited at various artistic performances in Moldova and abroad. The fall of the Soviet Union paused Cristina’s creative ascension, as after graduating the School of Fine Arts she had to work in the corporate world to be able to support herself. In her thirties, she became a prominent business community leader, and in early forties was appointed as the Ambassador to the United States.

In 2019, after an almost 20-year hiatus from painting, Cristina returned full-time to art, her abstract paintings being quickly noticed and appreciated by the public. Contemporary art magazines featured her works. Her paintings have been displayed in art shows in Washington D.C., New York City, and Kiev. Cristina’s works are currently featured by art galleries from NYC, Tokyo, Barcelona and Treviso, as well as
