About the work

The "B Love" paining bears a visual resemblance to the honeycomb, where the hexagons are cells in a matrix. Literally speaking, it is the place where a bee stores its honey. Symbolically, a bee is a spiritual traveler, honey is spiritual input, thus a honeycomb is a place in the human society, where spiritual input (wisdom, inspiration, vision) can be stored.

The hexagram, the six-pointed star, is the shape associated with the heart chakra, Star of David, Tree of Life, and Yeshua.

The Red hexagons represent the energy of Love, it is the energy that shall fill in our society / matrix. There are three hexagons in the painting, which represent the Trinity.

6️The geometry of the painting is interesting as well. Even though I did not plan for it, the hexagons (6 vertices, 6 edges) sides came out to be 6 cm, the frame width is as well exactly 6 cm. Six represents harmony, love, trut and enlightenment.

The "B Love" title can be interpreted in many ways: Be Love, Bee Love, Big Love etc

About the artist

Cristina Balan is an abstract artist. Born in Moldova, she studied arts from the age of five. Very early on, her works were exhibited at various artistic performances in Moldova and abroad. The fall of the Soviet Union paused Cristina’s creative ascension, as after graduating the School of Fine Arts she had to work in the corporate world to be able to support herself. In her thirties, she became a prominent business community leader, and in early forties was appointed as the Ambassador to the United States.

In 2019, after an almost 20-year hiatus from painting, Cristina returned full-time to art, her abstract paintings being quickly noticed and appreciated by the public. Contemporary art magazines featured her works. Her paintings have been displayed in art shows in Washington D.C., New York City, and Kiev. Cristina’s works are currently featured by art galleries from NYC, Tokyo, Barcelona and Treviso, as well as
