About the work
A reminiscence of a dramatic moment in which the rippling, surging waves flashed with a bright, fresh, wintry light as they broke on the dark rocks at Portadoras (Port of the door) on Lough Foyle.
About the artist
I was born in the North-West of Ireland and had my education at the North West Technical College in Derry City. I currently live in a coastal region of Donegal, not far from where I grew up and from where I derive my inspiration as a painter. I also attended the Putney School of Art in London. I have exhibited my paintings in both solo and group exhibitions in Derry City, in Buncrana, Donegal and in Shikoku, Japan where I lived for several years. I have been working as a painter professionally for 20 years and specialising in coastal landscapes and seascapes in oils and in acrylics.
