About the artist
Bogdan Mogilevskiy is a professional artist, was born in Lugansk Ukraine) on 11th of May, 1973. Bogdan has graduated Art College in Lugansk and continued his education in Kharkov Academy of Design and Arts at monumental department where he obtained a degree of academical artist (1997) and perfectly mastered monumental techniques such as stained glass, mosaic, fresco. Bogdan lives and works in Zadar (Croatia) since 2001. He is a member of Union of Croatian artists and regularly participates in art exhibitions, both in Croatia and abroad. Among others Bogdan participated at "Adam’s rib" exhibition, presented in the gallery "Kapitanova Kula” in Zadar, 2005, and the exhibition in Saint Danat’s church in Zadar, 2007. At the moment Bogdan concentrates on sacral theme in his works. The last artwork in this theme was performed with Konstantin - triptych "St. Mary’s Coronation" for the Church of Ascension of Blessed Virgin Mary in Bibine (Croatia). No less important sacral works of the earlier period, is "The Condescension of the Holy Spirit on Mary and the Apostles, Jesus in Emmause" – the magnificent canvas which decorates churche of Zadar, made in classical realistical style. Bogdan works in oil and watercolor painting. Watercolor painting fully opens the attitude of Bogdan-artist. His paintings radiate calm and peaceful contemplation – so rare in the modern, pragmatic world.
