Preamble

The 79th year AC

Vesuvius volcano, with its horrific eruption, covers cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum with toxic gases, dust, rocks and lava. Two towns within the great rising empire remained lapidified and preserved for 2,000 years. 

Two thousand years later

Excavation, under more than seven meters of lapidified mass, reveals brilliant art, arhitecture and frescoes on the walls of rich houses…

My Pompeii

From scarce literature and arduous journeys, in 1998, the Institute of culture of the Republic of Italia in Belgrade opened their doors wide, provided me with access and enabled me to work with the archeologists (drawing sketches of newly excavated artifacts). 

To show the beauty of the life of patricians, but also the misery od plebs, gladiators and slaves-represents endless inpiration for more than 30 years.

In the absence of perfectly polished walls, oil paintings or aquarelles are giving me the chance to present my artistry, giving it a personal stamp.
