About the work
About the artist
Hazló is located in Provence, Southern France. He paints "a fresco" on lime/marble based mortars, according to the original "buon fresco" tradition. He is highly passionate about bringing this ancient technique back to fashion, although he will follow a contemporary artistic path. A fresco painted mortar chemically turns into a limestone when it dries and Hazló's work then, wether figurative or abstract, always deal with this mineral texture and its very specific touch. Images trapped in a stone, this is the reason why ancient frescoes always carry a very particular sensation ! Hazló is also mastering other traditional painting techniques such us distempers or Tempera (egg based paint) in addition to his fresco works, like ancient masters did. Some of his works are in private collections in Australia, United States or Europe. **Please Note : The fresco artworks presented here are made on boards, not framed, and ready to be hanged on walls like any other painting (iron cables for most of them, or corner irons for the biggest ones).
