Ronald de Jong approaches painting as play—starting each canvas without a plan, responding directly to whatever comes next. Working only with acrylics and a palette knife, he builds layers of texture and warm earth tones that suggest architectural spaces: doorways, corridors, passages. He deliberately leaves his works untitled, keeping them as pure visual language. Though he's self-taught and says he knows little about art, style, or technique—and wants to keep it that way—nature quietly works its way in: stones, water, shifting earth. Each painting is its own game, where experience means nothing and everything comes fresh from the moment.
